… Oooh cinnamon buns. I’ll bet Jesse made them. I think I’ll
have one, yes I will, with some milk.

IO:
Me too Miss Grace. I’ll get the plates.

GRACE:
You know what Io?  I’ve decided I like your new look, yes I do.
It took me a little while to get used to it but the more
I see you, the more I like it.

IO:
Thank you Miss Grace.

GRACE:

I’m so glad you’re having a snack with me, yes I am. 

IO:

Miss Grace, there’s something I have to tell you. I’m going away.

GRACE:
You are? Where?

IO:
To the Elvin realm. Quinn will be visiting his father
there and he asked me to join him.

GRACE:
Does Daprima know about this?

IO:

Yes. She said it would be good for me to see
new places and meet new people.

GRACE:
Will you be gone for long?

IO:
Well, Quinn said a couple of weeks so … 

GRACE:
Oh? Then who’s going to take me to the bus stop in
the morning and meet me there after school?

IO:

I will miss doing that with you, but Fin said he will take you,
and Mez or Cammeo will meet you after school.

GRACE:
I guess that will be OK, but I’m going to miss you, yes I will. 

IO:
I will miss you too, Miss Grace.

GRACE:
Will you bring me back a present?

IO:

If you like, Miss Grace.

GRACE:

I think you should, yes I do. When people go on vacation they
like to bring presents back to whoever’s left behind, and if you’re
gone a long time - well then that just means more presents, yes it does.

IO:
If you say so, Miss Grace.

GRACE:
You said the Elvin realm, didn’t you? You now what’s in the Elvin
realm Io? Fairies. Phae has a fairy, yes she does. I’ve tried to
meet her, but she never leaves her room.

GRACE:
… I heard she has own little house in there. I’d love to see it, yes
I would. Do you think -  if I happened to walk in there, accidentally,
like I went in the wrong room by mistake …

IO:
That would be dishonest, Miss Grace.

GRACE:
It would, wouldn’t it. Oh phooey! Well, I’d still like my own
fairy. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you met one there?
Then you could bring her back home to me. 

IO:

I think I would need to ask Miss Daprima for permission first.

GRACE:
Oh she doesn’t need to know about this, it’ll be our
little secret, yes it will. Will you write to me?

IO:
Yes, I’d like that Miss Grace.

GRACE:
I mean real letters, on paper, the old fashioned way. 

IO:
Of course Miss Grace.

GRACE:
I’ll write to you too. Then I won’t miss you as much. 

GRACE:
… You know what else? I can find out how to catch a fairy. You write
me as soon as you see one, and I’ll tell you how to catch it. Oh this
is going to work out perfectly, yes it will, you wait and see …
